Vampires

Vampires are among one of the most known beings of the supernatural realm and hold many reputations, both bad and good. The vampires of Mystic Night hold true to some of the older and more known vampire traditions, where as some of them have their own spins. The vampires of Mystic Night do have the ability to go out into the day light. Some even attend the high school and College, but there is one thing – they can only be out in the sunlight for so long. If they are out in the light for prolonged periods of time, they will grow weary and ill. From there, they will continue to grow ill, and if they do not get out of the light, they will burst into ash and will die. Vampires have no weakness to crucifixes, but are more intrigued by looking at them. Holy water has an effect, it tends to burn the skin and with enough of it, it can put a vampire out of its misery. They will not set foot into churches. No particular reason, except for that it is holy ground and vampires are not welcome. Garlic, hey are more annoyed by it and find the smell to be fowl. Another thing about the vampires that dwell here is they can have children, but unlike humans, children vampires are very very rare and grow rather quickly after birth. But keep in mind, being dead, a vampire pregnancy is rare among vampires. Like any other race, this one also has laws.

• Vampires cannot create children vampires – The best example of this is Claudia from Anne Rice’s vampires. Vampires view it as stealing the life of someone who is not even ready to fathom what they are in for. They also view it as disgusting. They also think it’s too straining on a young mind, for their minds are not able to contemplate that they will never age again. Creating a child vampire results in exile or execution.
  
  
• You are to your own, and do not keep to others – Vampires are creatures whom usually keep to themselves and their covens. They never really talk to others. At school – those who do attend the schools only speak to the teachers and their own kind. Nothing more. Making contact with the other races is considered an act of disrespect to your own kind.
  
  
• A Lycan/Vampire relationship is forbidden – Vampires and Werewolves have been sworn enemies since the beginning. They refuse to stay within the distance of one another, but at the schools they keep themselves secret among the humans. Even loving a werewolf if you are a vampire is considered a sin. This act will result in exile or execution.
