The Rules
Here are the rules that are set to Mystic Night. Myself as well as the other staff members would all appreciate the rules being listed below to be followed, for each rule being broken has a consequence. There are several staff members on this site, and don’t think that you will be able to get away with anything. If something is caught then we as a staff team will decide on what to do with you; so we warn you to please follow these rules and respect our wishes while being a member of this site.
- Each member is important – Yes, there is a list of important characters on this site, and many members are free to join as one. But as the site goes along, the members whom have contributed their input on plots, ideas, and what not will be listed on the canon’s list as provided. Anyone can become a main canon, all you have to do is try and work for it. This also includes villains. There may be a list up there, but if your villain character is proving to be the next baddie, then you will most definitely go up there.
- You will follow the plot to each book as written – This whole thing is being drawn out like a book series. Like how some sites use this tactic for making their site into seasons on television shows. This is done like books. Each book has its own plot. The over all plot of the site will change with each book as writen. This way others will understand what is going on currently - then will refer to the books and chapter summaries to understand what is going on.
- You will not use this site or the Cbox as a meet market – This is strictly roleplay, and the Cbox is for talking about upcoming plots, talking to other roleplayers outside of the roleplay. Misuse of the Cbox and the site will get your account disabled for three days until further notice. If you continue to act out after being told not to, you will be banned no questions asked. Misuse of the site as well as the Cbox will not be tolerated by the staff, and makes everyone on this site look bad. We will not put up with people making the site look bad.
- Respect others – Every member is important to the staff. This also includes every member’s dignity and feelings. Cyber bullying will definitely be unacceptable here, as well as just disrespect towards another member or bashing their character outside of roleplay.
E.g. “Man, my character is better than yours! I mean, come on! You’re character is a human, and has no advantage to my character – who by the way, vampires rule!”
Bashing another characters member will not be followed with a verbal warning, but an immediate account disable for three days. You will be banned the next time it happens. The same goes with being disrespectful. Cyber bullying is an automatic account termination, with no chance of coming back. Disrespecting a staff member or an officer with a cocky attitude, you will be warned verbally and under watch.- Play your own characters, and keep their power level down. – This falls under the terms ‘Power playing’ and ‘God Moding’. Both are unacceptable. GMing from a big baddy villain is more acceptable, because every villain at first comes off as stronger till a weakness is found. But if a normal character comes off as too powerful, you will be warned that your character is TOO strong, and you will be forced to tone their powers down. If you fail to do this – your account will be disabled for three days. Followed by termination. Power playing goes the same. You will not be allowed to play someone else in a post that is not your character unless otherwise noted between you and the roleplayer. Otherwise, same punishments apply.
- If a play by is taken, find another. – We hate going to sites where someone has a face claim, only to find out someone else is using the same celebrity face to represent their characters, which is why we have a face claim list. There will be nobody on this site with the same face claim. If you failed to look at the face claim list only to find out someone had that celebrity before you, you will be asked to change your face claim celebrity.
- There will be no one lined posts; use proper grammar. – One lined posts are unacceptable at this site. They don’t keep up with the plot, and it makes people get bored rather easily. The minimum paragraph posts on this site will be two. That would be at least 6-10 sentences per paragraph. I understand that writers block hits us all, but it is also no excuse to post an effortless paragraph. As far as grammar goes, go to the best of your ability. If we find your post came up short, you will be asked to make it longer. We all make grammatical mistakes; and a few will be excused, but too many will be noted and you will be informed.
- The races will be watched – A lot of people may join as a vampire, a witch, a werewolf, and so on. We have staff members who are in charge of keeping the balance of certain races. If we feel there is too many of one race, we will not accept anymore of that particular race until more of the races are filled up to kept he balance. There will be a noticed posted on what races we are accepting and not accepting to keep you informed.
- Your sign in name, is not your display name – your sign in name, is what you will be using to merely sign in. Once you are accepted to the forums here, you will be asked to change your display name to your character’s name. Your sign in name will not be your display name. For better to your understanding, your display name will not be – E.G., vampirgrl006, lestatluvr21, weregirl, ect.
- Read before you apply – Read everything before you apply to this site. Not just the rules and the plot, but on the side bars, there is a section called ‘Map’. This is a link to all the designated places on the site that are to your importance to understand what you will be doing here. One place that you will be asked to do is read the site species. Not all the species on this site apply to the ‘classic’ creatures you have read about. There are things that have been changed, and these changes need to be aware to the users of this site.
- Cybering is not allowed – Cybering is prohibited from this site as well as from proboards period. Our administrators will keep watching - and we will know if someone is out of line as far as this goes. There are no ifs ands or buts about this rule. Keep this board free of sexual conduct.
- Don’t force romance – This is something we as staff members and dedicated roleplayers, have seen many many times. You will not force someone’s characters for fall in love with yours. Period. It’s not right, and it’s forcing something on a roleplayer who has yet to fully develop their character – or have no direction of what they want with their existing characters. Now, if it’s plotted, then go for it. Otherwise, do not do it. Witches don’t force people to fall in love, neither should you.
- Ask before assumption – This is for the people whom automatically assume that they know specific characters. I have seen this done before, that there is an automatic relationship of some sort with another character, and the roleplayer is not aware of what the opposing roleplayer is doing. If you want something done with another character, plot it or ask.
- No unauthorized deaths – There will be no unauthorized deaths on this site. This goes for also the roleplayers whom have put a lot of time on the development of that character, only to have someone take the character’s life with out the roleplayer being asked. If there is a death to be had, you will inform the roleplayer, as well as a staff member.
- Parting is such a hassle – I know we all have lives, and unfortunately we all will be forced to leave at some point or another. Instead of leaving your character unplayed, if you are forced to leave and not come back, your presence will be missed, but also we may give your character a send off with death. There is no use for it, and it will be a profile that is taking space in our accepted space. It’s nothing personal against you, and you will be missed.
- Activity is best – We like our site to be active. Therefore, we want our members active. So, we are not asking for you to be on 24/7, but we are asking you to make a face appearance to check on things hopefully at least three times a week or more.
- Don’t forget your check list – Once you are accepted, please refer to the area on the side bar, Map. There will be a link on there called ‘check list’ in there, you have the things you will be asked to do before your character is fully ready.
- Having fun – We hope you do enjoy your stay with us at Mystic Night. Cause we will enjoy your presence.
